The Author

A resident of New York City and a true native New Yorker. Has a background in Law Enforcement as well as entertainment. As a student at the City College of New York he majored in business and minored in Theater/Drama. 

Mr. Wilkerson in the past served as a security expert in such areas as personal, construction, Sea- port and corporate security. He also has experience in crowd control and event coordinating. His special skills allowed h
im to produce and promote major entertainment events. Since his retirement from the law enforcement community he has produced and promoted several successful entertainment events in New York and Miami.

Much of his career has included his award shows, who recipients in the past thirty years included Salt-n-Pepa, Omar Chandler, DJ Red Alert, Rob Base, VJ Ralph McDaniels, Jocely Brown, GQ, and Ph. D. Walter J. Turnbull (Music Director for the “Boys Choir of Harlem”). In the latter years the recipients also includes Commissioner ARTHUR E. TEEL, Jr. (Miami, Florida Board of County Commissioners), and Mayor ROBERT B. INGRAM, PH. D. (City of OPA-LOCKA, Florida). Mr. Wilkerson made a commitment and involved himself with “THE BLACK EXPO U.S.A.” In doing so he became one of the principal promoters for the event that was known as “The Biggest Event In The History Of Black America”. He was also responsible for bringing the “AMATEUR NIGHT Concept to Miami. Billed as (AMATEUR NIGHT at the JOSEPH CALEB Theater).
